Terms
Last updated 29 October 2026 (version 2026-10-29)
These terms are between Dean Kendall trading as Order Dog (ABN 56 859 956 799) (“Order Dog”, “we”, “us”) and you. Part A applies to businesses that use Order Dog. Part B applies to customers who order from a business’s Order Dog page.
Order Dog is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Square or Block, Inc. Square is a trademark of Block, Inc.
Part A — Businesses
1. What Order Dog is
Order Dog gives your business an online ordering page at its own address on order.dog, where customers order and pay ahead and collect in person. It connects to your Square account: it reads your Square menu and prices, creates each order in your Square account, and takes payment through Square. It also gives your staff an order screen and order alerts.
2. You need a Square account
Order Dog works only with Square. You must have a Square account in good standing and keep Order Dog connected to it. Your use of Square is governed by your own agreement with Square, not by these terms. We are not responsible for Square’s services, fees, payouts, holds, outages or decisions about your Square account.
3. Signing up and going live
- You apply at order.dog/get-started. We check every application and may decline any. Whoever applies and agrees to the fee confirms they’re authorised to act for the business.
- You give us permission, through Square’s own approval screen, to access the parts of your Square account Order Dog needs: your business profile and locations, your item catalogue (read only), and orders and payments, including collecting the Order Dog fee.
- Before your page takes real orders we check it with you: your menu, opening hours and details, and a real paid test order. You approve your page before it goes live.
- To suggest items that go well together on your page, we read your Square sales (items and quantities only, in store and online) from the last 90 days. You can choose suggestions yourself or switch them off.
- You’re responsible for what your page sells and says: item names, prices, descriptions, photos and availability come from your Square account and from you.
4. Fees
- Free period: no Order Dog fee on orders before your page goes live (such as your own test order) or for your free period after. Your free period is the number of days displayed on the sign-up screen when you agree to the Order Dog fee; later changes to the offer don’t affect it.
- After that, Order Dog charges $0.50 (including GST) per online order placed through your Order Dog page. The fee is shown and agreed when you sign up.
- The fee is collected automatically by Square from each payment, as an application fee, so you never receive a bill from us. Square’s own card processing fee still applies to the full order amount.
- If you refund an order in full, Square returns our fee for that order. A partial refund returns the same share of the fee.
- Orders taken in person on your Square register are never charged an Order Dog fee.
- The minimum online order is $1.00.
- Founding price: if you agree to the fee while it’s offered as the founding price, your fee stays at $0.50 for 18 months after your free period ends. (The founding price ends for new businesses when the price for new sign-ups first changes.)
- After any founding-price period, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice of any fee change. A new fee applies only to orders placed on or after the date it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can disconnect, without penalty, before it takes effect, and the new fee never applies to you.
5. Your responsibilities
- Fulfil the orders you accept, at the pickup time shown to the customer, or refund them through Square.
- Handle customer questions, complaints, refunds and consumer guarantees for what you sell. You are the seller; Order Dog is not.
- Comply with the laws that apply to your business and products — for example food safety rules.
- Items you can’t sell through Order Dog: alcoholic drinks; and medicines, meaning prescription medicines, Pharmacy Only medicines and Pharmacist Only medicines. Don’t list them on your Order Dog page; we may remove them, or pause online ordering on a page that lists them. (This is about what’s offered on Order Dog, not everything your business sells in store.)
- Keep your staff PIN and owner login private, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
- Use customers’ details only to fulfil and support their orders, and as the law allows.
6. What Order Dog does and doesn’t do
- Order screen: shows your Order Dog online orders and your in-store Square sales for the day together, on any device with a web browser. It must stay open, online and signed in to show new orders. It can play a sound for new online orders once a staff member taps “Start alerts”.
- Kitchen screens and printers: Order Dog doesn’t print tickets itself. Paid online orders are created in your Square account. Where supported by your Square configuration and compatible equipment, orders submitted through Order Dog can be sent to Square kitchen screens or printers. We can’t see whether an order was shown or printed.
- Alerts: new orders are also sent to your staff’s Telegram group. This depends on Telegram and on your staff’s phone settings.
- Wait times and pausing: wait times shown to customers are estimates. You can pause online orders, and Order Dog can pause them automatically when the wait goes over a limit you set.
- Search and AI: we build every page to be found by search engines and AI assistants. We can’t guarantee rankings, recommendations or any number of orders.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Order Dog running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when Square, our hosting or the internet has a problem. We may improve or change features. We’ll tell you in advance about changes that significantly reduce what Order Dog does for you.
8. Your content and our name
You keep ownership of your business name, logo, photos and menu content. You let us use them to run your ordering page and, with your permission, to show your business as an Order Dog customer. Order Dog’s name, logo, design and software remain ours.
9. Ending
- You can stop at any time by disconnecting Order Dog in your Square Dashboard or asking us to close your page. That stops all online ordering and all fees.
- We may suspend or close a page that breaks these terms or the law, puts customers at risk, or shows signs of fraud. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
- Orders already paid must still be fulfilled or refunded.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can’t be excluded. Where the law lets us limit our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
- Things we don’t control: we aren’t responsible for loss caused by Square, Telegram or other services we don’t run; your devices, internet connection or settings; what you, your staff or your page’s content do or don’t do; or events outside our reasonable control.
- Our own failures: we’re responsible for direct loss you suffer because we breached these terms or were negligent, up to the cap below. We aren’t liable for loss of profit, revenue or goodwill, or for indirect loss, except where the law doesn’t allow that to be excluded.
- Cap: subject to the exclusions and limitations permitted by law, Order Dog’s total aggregate liability to a business arising from or relating to Order Dog is limited to the greater of: (a) $1,000; or (b) the total Order Dog fees paid by that business during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. The cap doesn’t apply where the law doesn’t allow it, or to loss caused by our fraud or wilful misconduct.
10A. Marketing to customers
- At checkout, customers can tick an unticked box to get news and offers from Order Dog, including local businesses on Order Dog. Those who tick it join Order Dog’s own list; we don’t share it with you or other businesses. You still see your own customers’ order details in Square.
- Our promise: we never send a customer who ticked the box on your page an email that promotes a similar business near you. This covers every email we send them, including city-wide roundups and suggestions for places they’re travelling to. “Similar” means a business with the same business type as yours on Order Dog (for example café, bakery or florist); businesses with the type “Other” count as similar to each other. “Near” means within 5 km, in a straight line, of any of your locations on Order Dog. If a customer ticked the box on several businesses’ pages, the promise applies to each of those businesses.
- Apart from that, we may send those customers general news about Order Dog, roundups of businesses (for example “new on Order Dog in Brisbane”), and suggestions for places they’re travelling to.
11. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
12. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We may update them; we’ll tell you about material changes at least 30 days in advance. If a change materially reduces your rights or increases your costs, you can disconnect, without penalty, before it takes effect, and it never applies to you.

Part B — Customers ordering from a business
- Who you’re buying from. When you order on a business’s Order Dog page you’re buying from that business, not from Order Dog. The business is responsible for your order, its quality, pickup, and any refund or complaint, and your consumer rights for what you buy are against the business. This doesn’t limit any rights you have against Order Dog under the law.
- Payment. You pay the business through Square. Your card details go to Square and are never seen or stored by Order Dog.
- Pickup times. Ready times and wait times are the business’s estimates. If a business can’t fulfil your order, it will refund you through Square.
- Changes and refunds. Contact the business directly — its details are on its page and your receipt.
- Fair use. Don’t misuse the ordering page, place fake orders or use cards you aren’t authorised to use. Suspected fraud is blocked.
- Order Dog is an independent service, not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Square or Block, Inc.
